The creator of the iPod, iPhone, and Nest Thermostat, Tony Fadell, works with leading cryptocurrency wallet company Ledger to create a new cold wallet.

Ledger, a manufacturer of hardware wallets and cold storage systems, has unveiled its seventh cryptocurrency wallet in association with the iPod’s original designer.
In order to build its newest wallet, the Ledger Stax, the business teamed with Tony Fadell, the creator of the renowned iPod Classic model. In Paris, France, on December 6, at Ledger Op3n, a bi-annual Web3 developer conference, the firm announced the announcement.
The impending new hardware wallet from Ledger is the size of a credit card and includes a capacitive touch screen, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging, and a big E Ink display.
Stax features a curved E Ink display for the first time in Ledger’s product range, which can be used to show the owner’s name or other wallet information similarly to a book spine. The name “Ledger Stax” comes from the fact that the gadget has magnets that enable users to “stack” and organise the storage of numerous such devices.
Fadell considered how a modern stack of banknotes might look when creating the device. According to a Ledger representative, “He thought about it in two ways: the spine of the gadget is like the band around the stack of banknotes which displays you what’s within, and you can stack them together using the magnets.”
Ledger Stax was created by Fadell, who also worked on the first three iPhone iterations, in conjunction with the industrial design company Layer. We must be user-friendly, but not at all! The “Father of the iPod” called it a “user-delightful” solution that would make digital asset security accessible to everyone, not just computer specialists.
Customers may now pre-order the wallet on Ledger’s official website; the wallet will reportedly go on sale in Q1 2023. It will eventually be offered by a few chosen stores, including BestBuy in the US.
According to a Ledger spokesman, the Ledger Stax wallet costs $279. The price of the gadget is substantially higher than that of Ledger’s prior wallet, the Ledger Nano S Plus. Nano S Plus will be commercially available in April 2022 and currently costs $79 to purchase. Nano X, the previous version, costs $149.
Ledger claims that the newest wallet product is made with a touch screen and a larger display to facilitate interacting with and signing transactions. The company’s spokesman claimed that Ledger Stax “adds to our lineup, rather than replaces anything, letting customers to choose the kind of experience they desire.
